From the memory of sand dunes meeting the waters of northern Lake Michigan, MacLaren’s collage melds the temporal with the spiritual via mixed media. Dry rippling sand, heavy wet sand and the wetness of water speak through cardboard and paint as the whole is magically transformed beyond the sum of the parts.
