Pomegranate, the literal thing appears fastened in paint with a texture of seeds and spice. One panel of four that at the same time inerupt and join the underlying painting.

Rotate the image. Ernst  works from all sides of the painting. Therefore, there isn’t a prescribed up. The painting is wired to hang in 4 directions.
